Launchy (Freeware) is a nice little program (Windows only) that, once installed, will index your start menu and allow you to find programs without all the hassle of doing so. There are also plug-ins to search Firefox bookmarks.

Install then hit alt+space to bring it to the front of your screen. Type in what you are looking for and BANG! There you are.
