SWEET digital notepad!!

I just found out about this thing. It's the Adesso Cyberpad A4 Digital Notepad.

"The CyberPad integrates the familiarity of pen-on-paper feel. It's a digital notepad with an electronic inking pen that feels and works as well as a regular pen. It lets you to naturally write as you usually do with a regular pen on paper. No special papers needed! Utilizing the electromagnetic technology, it lets you put any ordinary letter size or A4 size paper on the pad and use the inking pen to write directly on the paper. Even if the thickness of papers laid on the pad are 3/4" thick; your handwritten notes can still be captured and stored in the built-in or optional SD card memory slot of your CyberPad."

This would be a great tool for almost anybody who is connected to their computer but can't take it with them everywhere. Take your notes in meetings, church functions, grocery store etc then sync them to your computer. Draw a quick schematic for something and it's saved as a digital image. Very cool indeed. I'll have my hands on one in a week or so and let you all know how it works. I may need one for personal use!!

Here's some details.

Form Filling:
Digitally captures and store everything you write in real time with the ink on an ordinary letter or A4 (8.5” x 11”) size paper. Instantly get both a digital record and a hardcopy duplicate of your handwritten notes even when you are on the move. This is one of the excellent parts of the form filling application which translates the hardcopy to a digital data.

Hand Writing Recognition:
The riteMail® 2.5 is able to read CyberPad document files for smartly transferring your handwriting to text. It supports and recognizes 4 languages; English, French, German, and Russian. With its exceptional software technology, the riteShape™ and riteScript™, makes shapes and completes charts with an automatic adjustment and alignment of concentric shapes, connected lines and adjacent shapes.

Evernote

With CyberPad’s bundle such as riteMail™, you can easily view, edit and organize your handwriting to be converted to digital pages using Windows operating system. Save any digital pages as an image file and share your notes with others through e-Mail and you can even send notes to your PDA.

Works as a Graphics Tablet:
By connecting the CyberPad to your PC or notebook through the USB port, it allows you to capture, organize, and share your handwritten notes, drawings, and sketches. Also, you could use the CyberPad in a Landscape format. It can be use as a drawing tablet where you can write or draw on it and your work will displays right on your computer screen.

Form
Create and Customize Forms... with a touch of a button:
Creating forms has never been so easy. With the help of My Form and Microsoft Word, the Cyberpad can create the simple to the most advanced forms. This is suitable for medical professionals, office clerks, lawyers, or anybody who uses forms on a daily basis. It saves and stores your forms onto your computer for easy access at anytime.

Notes Organize your Notes:
Place any ordinary paper or notepad on the digital pad. Then write on the paper with the digital inking pen. The pad digitally records anything you write on it and it is store as one digital page. In the right side of your CyberPad you can organize your notes by creating folders. The LCD screen shown on your left will tell you which page and folder you’re writing in.

Right now it's $150 at TigerDirect.com!! Better than a PDA in more ways than I can think of.
